Good day Fairview Folks and Friends!... (10/19/06)

Good day Fairview Folks and Friends! It is a good day! Last weekend Veda Atchley and I traveled to Washington to join our sister churches of the Evergreen Association for our Annual Meeting. What an incredible group of Christians! No where have I seen such a diverse group of Christians, both ethnically and theologically gather together where voices are not only heard –but respected as well! This is what Christianity is all about!

Hello Fairview and Friends!... (10/12/06)

Hello Fairview and Friends! Wow! What a success we had this weekend! Over fifty people came to the viewing of An Inconvenient Truth and I am pleased to say that many of the attendees came from the community! The film was awesome! Awesome –in the sense that I was struck with awe by the gravity of our global condition. This is information that each person should have!

Hello Fairview and Friends!... (10/05/06)

Hello Fairview and Friends! We have two great opportunities to get out into the community this weekend! The first comes this Saturday evening at 7pm –when the community comes to us! Progressive Christians Uniting and the Interfaith Light and Power are sponsoring An Inconvenient Truth held right in our very own church! This is a really “convenient” opportunity to invite your friends and neighbors to Fairview. Let them check us out by seeing what we are interested in!

Greetings!... (09/28/06)

Greetings! This Sunday is World Communion Sunday and we will be celebrating it in the mountains at our All Church Retreat at Pilgrim Pines. Saturday promises to be a fascinating day with Rev. Dr. Karyn Reddick as she leads us in discovering our personalities and the way we work, play and worship together!

Hello Fairview!... (09/21/06)

Hello Fairview! Wow—what a great rally day last Sunday turned out to be! Do you know that we had 18 children and toddlers in church? Let’s hope that we’ll continue to have lots of children and adults join us for worship! Although…I had hoped that my sermon would inspire a kind soul to volunteer to lead our Children’s Christian Education Commission. Does anyone feel God’s call to help out?

Good Afternoon Fairview and Friends!... (09/14/06)

Good Afternoon Fairview and Friends! This Sunday is Rally Day! Rally Day has been traditionally a day intended to kick-off a new year of Sunday School. It’s a time when we return to church from long summers and we rally ourselves up for a great new year together! On this day we honor the children of our church and invite children in our lives and our community to join us to worship. It’s been a great summer, but it’s time for those of you that have vacationed for summer to return to back to us refreshed and ready to worship, pray, work and have fun!

Good Afternoon!... (09/07/06)

Good Afternoon! I hope that you are enjoying my Thursday’s Thoughts and are sharing them with your friends. I know that I still do not have everyone’s email addresses, so please share this with others who might not be receiving it. This is also a great way to reach out to your friends and tell them about Fairview Community Church! Let’s think of this as an online church! We can use this opportunity to invite our friends to 2525 Fairview Road –but we can also invite them into conversation via the internet, telephone, or over dinner!
