Every month we light a candle for peace in our Sunday service signifying our prayer for a world without war, a world without violence.  During the Advent Season we  took that candle out of our sanctuary and into the streets!  What a beautiful testament and witness it was to peace: simply holding candles and signs, praying for peace.  Though the flames were small, they made an impact –bringing our light into the darkness.  Following the success of the Advent lighting of candles, we decided to commit to lighting our peace candles during the season of Lent.  So, beginning the week after Ash Wednesday, on February 13th, join me at 6:30pm (note different time from Advent) on our corner: Fair and Fairview to light our candles for peace.   Let us take our light into the darkness and let it shine!!!
