While Christmas is genuinely a time of joy, that is not everyone’s sentiment during the holidays.  In fact, this can be the most difficult time of year for many.  The holidays inevitably cause us to think about loved ones, and often we remember loved ones who  are no longer living or are otherwise no longer a part of our lives.  While sometimes we do find joy in remembering happy times with loved ones, it can also bring us great sadness.  Oftentimes we find that the Christmas present cannot add up to the Christmas past.  And so we find ourselves let down from excessively high expectations.  Sadly, the holidays even bring on depression, when we wish or expect them to instill joy and celebration.   In reality, many of us suffer from some sort of holiday “blues”.

Put December 6 on your calendar for our Fairview Family Christmas Party. It’s time for our annual Chili Cook-Off with all the trimmings. If you think you’ve got the best chili in town, come and prove it! We want to see as many people sign up as possible!

We are bringing back the “White Elephant”. Get ready to clean out you closets and bring over a present to exchange with someone! We have something special planned  for the children as well . Check out our worship service bulletin announcements in a few weeks for an update on this.

For those of us who are not chili experts, sign up sheets for other food and beverage items will be available in the patio, after worship service.
