Hiya Fairview!
Kids Sunday was fabulous! I’ve been singing the “Arky-Arky” song all week! “Rise and Shine, and give God the Glory-glory!” Weren’t the children just adorable as they sung the songs and acted out the hand motions? My favorite is when we sing “if I were an octopus, I’d thank you Lord for my great looks!” The puppet show was delightful, giving us insight into God’s presence and love. (You know, Myrna Pappas, our resident playwright wrote it just for us!) Jennifer Francisco pulled off the craft stations –hope you had fun making yourself in the palm of God’s hand. Shane Johnston demonstrated his creation with his usual creative humor! The entire service was fun-filled! To top things off, our families gathered together at Frogg’s Bounce House for a wonderful time bouncing and chatting! How does Carrie Lester have more energy than all those kids? You should have seen her sliding and bouncing off the walls! I cannot express how deeply it warms my heart to see our children’s program so alive and vital! We’ve really come a long way since we intentionally decided to focus on children! We are so blessed!
I have babies on the brain! I keep expecting Cindy to call or text to tell me she’s going into labor! It’s weird not to see her in the office every day. It has become lonely without her. Luckily, however, we have the part-time help of Becky Webb. Hopefully, you were able to meet her on Sunday. She did a great job on her first Sunday and is getting the hang of things around here quickly! Looks like we’ll survive her absence after all! Even with that reassurance, I can’t help but think about Cindy just waiting around at home, waddling whenever she can, trying to get that baby to come! I can’t wait to meet him!
Isn’t it amazing how children can change our lives? My thoughts linger upon this topic quite frequently now as I imagine a family I someday hope to have. Our children have changed the life of Fairview Community Church. They bring such joy with them! Each bring their own personalities, enriching the flavors of our church: from Kylie’s expression of worry for her mother’s baptism, to K.J.’s quiet presence, to Lili’s willingness to answer every question, to Darby’s insight, and Emma’s comments always focused on the color pink, to Shane’s creative angles, and Shawna’s smile, to Chloe’s care and concern, and Charlie’s hugs –and that’s just to name a few! I hope that you take the time to get to know our children. It really does take a village to raise a child, and I have a feeling that we can all grow from our children as well!
We are blessed! Join us this Sunday as we continue to celebrate God’s blessings in the life of Fairview Community Church! Don’t forget to scroll down for events –Men’s Breakfast is this Sunday and Women’s Group is Monday night!

The Wide, Wide World of Theology!
Take Me In
David Browning
Take me past the outer courts
Into the secret place,
Past the brazen altar,
Lord, I want to see Your face.
Pass me by the crowds of people,
The priests who sing Your praise;
I hunger and thirst for Your righteousness
And it’s only found in one place.
Into the secret place,
Past the brazen altar,
Lord, I want to see Your face.
Pass me by the crowds of people,
The priests who sing Your praise;
I hunger and thirst for Your righteousness
And it’s only found in one place.
Take me in to the Holy of Holies,
Take me in by your loving hand;
Take me in to the Holy of Holies,
Take the coal, cleanse my lips,
Here I am.
Take the coal, cleanse my lips,
Here I am.
