I can’t believe it is Thursday again!  It feels as though I were just writing my sermon for Mother’s Day and now, here I am, preparing to write this week’s sermon!  While I sometimes admit I grumble as I attempt to get my Thursday’s Thoughts out week after week sometime before the deadline of midnight, I have to admit that I appreciate the fact that I have this space to consider my thoughts.  I recommend it as a part of a spiritual practice.  Having to actually think about what you’re thinking about is an excellent practice in awareness.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Bible Study is for the dogs!

 

Actually, I mean that in the best of ways possible!  At last night’s Divine on the Vine Bible Study we had ten people and three dogs!   Yes, we were blessed with the presence of not only our dear regulars engaged in a fascinating study on the potential influence of Homer on the writings of the New Testament, but three incredibly well behaved dogs as well: Cathy –a repeat participant at Divine on the Vine, Duchess – Austin’s doggie, and the newest addition to my family—an adorable un-named Beagle –who came home with me Tuesday afternoon from the Orange County Animal Shelter.

As you probably can imagine, I’m a little Rubied out!  But there’s still two more meal opportunities left before the end of the Fundraiser.  I’ve set up office there the last few days having managed to eat 5 meals there in the last three days and am hoping to hit two more before we’re done!  So, if your pastor can shooby dooby…you can too!  Hope to see you there today!
